Human Anatomy 1 (of 4)

Course Overview:

This is the first of four, seven week courses exploring the fascinating study of Human Anatomy.  This course uses the Open Stax Anatomy and Physiology 2e textbook, covering chapters 1-7, and lectures begin January 4, 2027.  Three online lectures will be provided each week, with a lecture each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday  from 3:00pm-3:40pm, Mountain Time.  Each week we will cover a single chapter in the textbook.  (There is no lecture the week of Thanksgiving). In each lecture, Dr. Bramwell provides an overview of the material in the chapter, as well as supplemental material exploring topics covered.  Clinical correlates will be included. Quizzes are included in each lecture to review information already presented and to help integrate new information. To obtain as much understanding as possible, it is imperative that students read the week's chapter in advance of lecture.

This material is suitable for high school age students.  Those who complete all four courses will gain an excellent foundation in Human Anatomy that will prepare them for course work at the undergraduate level and beyond.  While it is preferable to take the courses in sequence this is not strictly necessary and those who wish to take a section of greater interest out of sequence may do so.
